Indriði Arnar Ingólfsson is an Icelandic musician and visual artist. Throughout his career, he has gained recognition, particularly as a member of the noise-rock band Muck. During their ten-year run, the band was nominated for the Nordic Music Prize for their album Slaves and was awarded "The Band to Watch" by The Reykjavík Grapevine in 2013. Muck toured extensively worldwide, performing at numerous music and arts festivals, most notably joining the heavy metal giants Every Time I Die on a major UK tour in 2016.
Following his time with Muck, Indriði has remained active in the Icelandic music scene, collaborating with artists such as Úlfur Hansson, Jófríður Ákadóttir, CYBER, and ex.girls, among others.
Indriði released his debut solo album, Makril, in 2016 through Figureight Records, a label founded by Shahzad Ismaily, who has worked with renowned artists like Tom Waits, Laurie Anderson, and Lou Reed. The album received critical acclaim and was praised by publications such as Clash and The Line of Best Fit. Makril was nominated for the Kraumur Music Awards in 2016 and was featured on several year-end lists.
After releasing Makríll, Indriði moved to Berlin in the fall of 2017 for an internship with composer Jóhann Jóhannsson. Alongside his internship, he composed and recorded his second album, dingding, which was also released by Figureight Records in the spring of 2018.
Indriði returned to Iceland in 2020 and has since been involved in electronic music production, co-founding the record label and event company Skúlagata, and composing and performing guitar for theater and television productions(including Romeo and Juliet and Taktu flugið, beibí! for The National Theatre of Iceland, as well as the TV series Húsó).
Indriði holds a degree in visual arts from The Iceland University of the Arts (LHÍ) and has participated in various performance art projects, including Styrmir Arnar Guðmundsson’s performance at the Venice Biennale and Ragnar Kjartansson’s installation at Hafnarhúsið in 2017.
